Objectives
The RDN was developed through use of a creative model
that calls on the administrative, nursing and physician staff of
the member organizations to complete the planning, development and
implementation of the initiatives set forth by the RDN. This integrated
model has resulted in buy-in and ownership of these initiatives.
Monitoring is performed through measurement of outcomes and participation
in RDN activities.
Key objectives of the RDN include:
- Standardize quality initiatives across the major HMO's, helping insurers, health care providers, and patients alike by consolidating health maintenance goals
- Create and promote strong, respectful working relationships within and among Physician Hospital Organizations (PHO's)
- Focus on important and timely chronic disease issues affecting our communities through collaborative ideas and uniform guidelines
- Coordinate communication with employers, payers, and the healthcare community
- Overall, serve as the leading resource of health management information and education
